Summer ecological surveys (June – August)
Ecological surveys will be carried out over the next few months to help us identify and count different types of plants and wildlife around the proposed Springwell site.
Suitably qualified ecologists will conduct site walkovers at different times of the day, including very early in the morning and later in the evening when species are most active. You may see surveyors walking around the site at these times over the coming months.
These surveys are being conducted over the summer to align with when it is best to carry out surveys for different types of species e.g. aligning with breeding or nesting periods, as well as coordinating with harvesting periods.
These surveys do not disturb wildlife and are not expected to cause any disruption to neighbours.
