Hedgerow planting along the Spires and Steeples Way and the A15 (24 February – 14 March)
Advance planting of new hedgerows in strategic locations around the Springwell site is underway.
We are carrying out this planting now to ensure that, should consent be granted, new planting is well established prior to construction beginning on site. This is also the ideal planting season for new whips, allowing them to establish before the spring.
Work will be taking place from Monday 24 February to fill in hedgerow gaps along the A15 and introduce new hedgerows on the western edge of the Spires and Steeples Way between Blankney and Scopwick. These locations have been highlighted as particularly important in the public feedback we received and as a result of our environmental assessments.
Activity on site is expected to last for three weeks, finishing w/c 10 March. During this time, you may see people on-site planting the new whips. Whips will predominantly be a mixture of blackthorn and hawthorn, inkeeping with species already within the local area.
All planting is being undertaken by professional landscapers and will be monitored regularly to ensure they are established. We do not expect the planting to cause any disruption.
